About Huazhong Agricultural University
It has eighteen colleges and departments at HZAU. HZAU promotes life science, but it also places a strong focus on the theoretical discipline framework of the arts, law, economics, sciences, engineering, and management. What
will the scholarship cover?
- You
don’t need to pay the registration fee, tuition and fee for accommodation
- You
will get a Monthly Living allowance:
- Bachelor’s
degree students: RMB2,500.
- Master’s
degree students: RMB 3,000.
- Doctor’s
degree students: RMB 3,500.

Eligibility criteria for Huazhong Agricultural University 2024
- Students
must be non-Chinese citizens.
- If
a Master’s and PhD candidate select Chinese-taught programs then they must
have at least HSK 5(180).
HSK
refers to the Chinese Proficiency Test. You can find information on the website (Click here)
- One-year
Chinese language course if you do not meet the minimum language requirements.
- If
you want to study without the Chinese language then you must have HSK 5(180) for the Chinese-taught program MS and PhD.
- You
need an English test report such as IELTS, TOEFL or any other test recognized
by HZAU.

- Notarized
copy of highest diploma or degree certificate (2 copy). Those students who
are currently enrolled or don’t have an original degree must submit official proof of student status. You can upload a Provisional certificate as proof of student. If your documents are not in English or Chinese then you have
to attach a notarized translation in English or Chinese.
- Transcripts
(from undergraduate to onwards (2 copy). If you are in the last semester and
graduate too soon then from the first to last semester results card. Result cards
shall be issued and sealed by the university. Don’t upload student portal
screenshots. They can be in English or Chinese and must be notarized. If your
documents are not in English or Chinese then you have to attach a notarized
translation in English or Chinese.
- Language
proficiency certificate. If your major is Chinese-taught then you must upload a
valid HSK score. Candidates for the English-taught program shall provide language
proficiency certificates like IELTS etc and you can also apply without IELTS if
you have an English proficiency certificate from your previous university to
demonstrate your English skills.
- A brief Study plan/research proposal [Extremely important]. A study plan written
in English or Chinese and should be more than 1000 words. Your proposal should
be focused and brief with academic background, research field description, and
the future research plan. A brief introduction to why you want to study in China
and Huazhong Agricultural University reasons and understanding of
China and Huazhong Agricultural University are also included in the proposal. The proposal must be signed by the Chinese
supervisor of the candidate.
