Chongqing University Chongqing Municipal Mayor Scholarship 2024 Eligibility Requirements
- There are no age restrictions
- All international students may apply for 40 Years for PhD and 35 Years for a Masters
- Although the IELTS is not required, you may apply using an English Proficiency Certificate.
Methods of How to Apply for Chongqing University Chongqing Municipal Mayor Scholarship 2024
- Complete the online application form available on the Chongqing University portal
- Upload all necessary files.
- Hard copies do not need to be sent.
- Application Fee: 400 RMB (Payable via the Chongqing University portal after submission)
Online payment method: available only to candidates who are currently in China; bank card, WeChat, or Alipay accepted;
Bank transfer: As soon as possible, submit a copy of the transfer voucher to admissions@cqu.edu.cn with your name and passport number written on it. Bank account details are as follows:
- After completing the online form and waiting for the outcome, check the status of your portal every day.
- The final result will be published at the end of June or the beginning of July.
List of Required Documents for the Chongqing Municipal Mayor Scholarship 2024
- Complete the online application for CQU.
- Copy of Passport Home Page
- Notarized copy of highest diploma or degree certificate. Those students who are currently enrolled or don’t have an original degree must submit official proof of student status. You can upload a Provisional certificate as proof of student. If your documents are not in English or Chinese then you have to attach a notarized translation in English or Chinese.
- Transcripts (from undergraduate to onwards). If you are in the last semester and graduate soon then from the first to last semester results card. Result cards shall be issued and sealed by the university. Don’t upload student portal screenshots. They can be in English or Chinese and must be notarized. If your documents are not in English or Chinese then you have to attach a notarized translation in English or Chinese.
- Language proficiency certificate. If your major is Chinese-taught then you must upload a valid HSK score. Candidates for the English-taught program shall provide language proficiency certificates like IELTS etc and you can also apply without IELTS if you have an English proficiency certificate from your previous university to demonstrate your English skills.
- A brief Study plan/research proposal. A study plan written in English or Chinese and should be more than 1000 words. Your proposal should be focused and brief with academic background, research field description, and the future research plan. A brief introduction to why you want to study in China and CQU reasons and understanding of China and CQU are also included in the proposal. click here to download.

- Foreigner physical examination form
- No-criminal record certificate
- Additional documents such as:
- Honours and awards
- Certificates
- Acceptance letter from Chinese supervisor (optional)
- Work experience/internship certificate, etc
